Reaction of "Note From A Bottle"

I think this story is awesome and mysterious. Even though we all know that the flood is not going to happen in the future because God promised us, however, this story is written well, and the readers feel realistic. In the story the author descibed the feelings of people and their reactions towards the flood. If I was one of the people in the story, I might feel helpless and hope that everything had never happened. To summarize, this story is ine of the best stories I had read in this book.

Reaction of "The Storyteller"

Personally I think it's a cool story. Adults often think that peaceful stories are the best for the kids. However, most kids are sick of these kind of peaceful story, and that's why the kids in the story are feeling excited when the guy was telling the story. Even though that kind of story might seemed a bit inappropriate for the kids, but he is a perfect example of being a great storyteller. Additionally, it provides me an idea of how to tell a story to my child in the future. The point is to grab their attention, and not telling peaceful stories all the time.

Sciece Fair summary

My science fair project is about colors and heat absorption, and it's all about the ability for each color to absorb light. In fact, the color of an object depends on the wavelengths of colors reflected from the object. For instance, an apple is red because red wavelengths in white light are reflected, and the remaining wavelengths are absorbed. If the apple that is clarified by light that contains no red wavelengths, then the apple appears almost black. The reason for black objects to appear black is because all wavelengths are absorbed but none of them are reflected. When black objects absorb the light, the energy doesn’t just disappear, but more energy is needed for absorption. The procedure is easy, you just have to collect three shoe boxes with same size, and paint one black, one gray and one white. After that, set a heat lamp on top of the boxes and measure the temperature of the boxes after certain amount of time. After performing the experiment we have concluded that the color of an object does affect its ability to absorb solar energy.The data proves that darker color does absorb more heat than lighter color during same period of time

Article Reaction: Forget What You Know About Study Habits

This article implies a good point about studying, which is studying with two or three methods at one time instead of focusing on one kind method. For instance, people don't learn a lot by studying only one method at a time. The reason is that when they do the same type of problem over and over, they just need to repeat what they have just done instead of stop and think about the next step. Another point that catches my interest in the article is that people need to forget something in order to learn. I have no idea whether it's true or not, because I don't know if i just eliminated some memories in my brain when I learned how to solve linear functions. Anyways, the best environment to learn doesn't mean a extremely peaceful place; However, each person's idea varies. Everyone just need to find a place that best fits their personality, and of course, comfortable enough for studying,

DVD Report

The DVD I watched for my report is about using stem cells properly which can allow humans to grow for a longer time than before. However, I disagree with using stem cells to support us and live longer. First of all, this process must be expensive, because it involves a lot of science researches and experiments. The best way to live for a healthy life is to exercise everyday and not using harmful drugs or eating unhealthy food. Additionally, God has a plan of the dates of our deaths, so we should accept it and not trying to disobey. No matter how hard we try, it's still difficult to maintain human life for a long time. I think the best way is to accept our death, and not trying to avoid it. To summarize, I disagree with using the stem cells to control our life range, and we should accept death when our time of life is up.

The story"The Content In A Dead Man's Pocket"

This is the first story in our book, and I enjoyed reading it. Not because I think this story is meaningful, I like the story because the author did not expresses the story in an oblique way. Each sentence in the story express the suspense and intensity in the story. This kind of story catches my attention, and I would be eager to find out what happen at the end of the story. Additionally, the story state the idea of spending time with family is way better than spending time on jobs or work. This story is different from other story because this story describe a lot of actions; however, most of the stories in the book describe a person's thoughts or memories, which is not interesting at all. To summarize, I expect to read the story involves a lot of actions or lessons of life. Those kind of stories are more interesting and beneficial.

The story"Two Kinds"

I think this story is meaningful and important for me. This story basically implies the difference of two daughters. One of them is obedient; the other one is disobedient. I think being obedient is very important in today's society. Obedience gets you many things, for instance, if I listen to my parents, they allow me to hang out with my friends or stay at school for dinner. Your parents won't harm you, so I believe that if we can obey them, it's beneficial for our future. This story is the best story I've read so far, the others are kind of lame and meaningless for me. I hope everyone in our class gets the point of being obedient to our parents by reading the story. In the future, I expect to read more story that can teach us lessons and experiences of life.
